The Cruelty Is the Point

Since the beginning of the Trump era, the destructive Left has accused its enemies — patriotic Americans — of being driven by cruelty. But as Peachy Keenan illustrates with a survey of the latest supposed outrages, this “cruelty” only makes sense in light of their false concept of justice. Under the proper, American understanding of justice, it is the destruction of our way of life that is cruel, and the attempt to defend it, even with unpleasant means, that is loving. Because a divide of this nature is the defining element of a cold civil war, Keenan urges Americans not to bend in the face of the enemy’s bogus charges.

One of the Left’s favorite talking points is that the Right is cruel, heartless, uncaring. How dare Republicans deport murderers and gang members? Won’t someone think of the poor child rapists? How dare Elon Musk volunteer to eliminate waste and fraud from the federal budget and prevent economic collapse? Who does this monster think he is?

And just look at all the mean, horrible mothers out there who want to get boys out of their daughters’ locker rooms. And those poor Hamas terrorists can’t catch a break. And only a vicious sociopath would want to stop unborn babies from being dismembered in utero, or work to bring peace to an unwinnable war in Ukraine.

A hostile network of media and government officials used to living off government largesse and access are mad. They have lit the beacons of hate and an army of flying Antifa-adjacent homegrown terrorists are crawling out of their lairs to hunt their prey — us. Just because our guys are in power doesn’t mean they are all declawed and defanged. They remain dangerous. In fact, these losers are more dangerous today than they’ve been in years, because, as Janis sang, when you’ve got nothing, you’ve got nothing left to lose.

DEI congresswoman Jasmine Crocker recently mocked wheelchair-bound Texas governor Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels” — supposedly for his border policy that involved vehicles, but we know what she meant. At a March congressional hearing, Crockett went off on the idea of reducing federal funding of public radio stations and claimed that the “DOGE agenda isn’t about government efficiency. It’s about breeding corruption.”

In 2020, Katherine Maher, the raving CEO of NPR, called Donald Trump a “fascist” and a “deranged racist” on Twitter. They are still accusing Elon Musk of being an actual Nazi after an arm gesture where he declared he was “giving his heart” to the crowd was purposely slandered as a Hitler salute.

Any restrictions on illegal immigration are called “cruel” and inhumane,” even when the worst humans on Earth are getting exactly what they deserve. The underfed federal judge Jeb Boasberg even tried to block the deportation flights of vicious Tren De Aragua gang members back to Venezuela, after their long crime spree in the United States. Where was his concern for their victims?

Reason columnist Ilya Somin wrote that Trump’s termination of legal parole status for hundreds of thousands of migrants who fled communist tyranny is a “further expansion of Trump’s cruel war on legal migration.”

In a speech in March, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries claimed that Trump’s cuts to wasteful programs were unfair, mean-spirited, and meant he favored the rich over the poor. For half the country, “when they’re poor they have to steal” has become law.

Spluttering talking heads on CNN repeatedly described the Department of Government Efficiency as “cruel” to federal workers and those reliant on government services, i.e., corrupt NGOs. Stephen Colbert hosted Epstein associate and Democrat supervillain Reid Hoffman on his show, where he said the Trump administration’s waste cutting is “unlawful and cruel.”

New York Times columnist Paul Krugman wrote, “Elon Musk’s gleeful slashing of federal jobs is a cruel spectacle—tens of thousands of livelihoods discarded like trash, all to feed his ego and Trump’s chaos.” MSNBC host Rachel Maddow said, “Marjorie Taylor Greene’s hateful rants against government workers, cheering Musk’s firings, show the GOP’s new face: cruelty as a badge of honor.”

In February, Politico reported that Marjorie Taylor Greene was teaming with Musk in order to “slash the government to ribbons,” with “hateful” intent toward federal employees. Won’t someone think of the poor government employees who “work” from home by half-heartedly checking their email once every few days.

Republicans are cruel for restricting access to “women’s health care,” when the only thing slightly more restricted is their ability to murder five-pound infants in second-trimester abortions.

But the reality is that the Trump administration is the most big-hearted and benevolent in modern history. For the first time in decades, perhaps ever, someone in power is thinking about the most neglected, abused groups of citizens in the country: middle-class families and young men. Imagine stopping foreign wars before young men are sent to fight and die for a reason no one can define. Imagine speaking out for powerless mothers who just want their daughters to compete fairly, not get raped by Venezuelans, and be able to afford groceries again.

Putting their interests above the interests of the federal workers who (supposedly) work for them is not cruel. It is just. Putting their interests above the devious NGOs who funnel hardworking taxpayer money into the pockets of people who hate them is not mean; it is an act not just of generosity but of justice. Prioritizing merit over race or gender quotas is not racist or sexist, but rational and fair.

The abject cruelty Democrats inflicted on American citizens over the last ten years has no parallel in our history. They have conveniently forgotten about their suicide-inducing Covid lockdowns, forced masking and experimental vaccinations, and how they made you watch from behind a window as your mother died alone in a nursing home. They showed zero empathy or tolerance for dissent, and routinely targeted people for termination, cancellation, and suspension for speaking out. The party of sadistic cruelty is simply accusing the Right of doing what they have always been guilty of.

The Democrats’ petty anger knows no limits. How many people publicly wished Thomas Crooks had not missed? What happened to them as children to make them this twisted? Is it their Godlessness? Too many hours locked in a daycare, raised by “caregivers”? Are they born sociopaths? I often joke with people that if the Left had a button that would instantly vaporize every MAGA voter and their entire family, they would trample over each other to be the first to press it.

The death threats and rage among deranged leftists will only get worse as the Right continues to prioritize doing the right thing. But none of it will stop the good and the just Party of Love from doing exactly what they were elected to do: to ruthlessly defend themselves and their allies, and to stay on offense at all times. A great and decisive battle was won in November, but the war rages on.
